The Department of Computer Science and Engineering,
through its Computer Science Association (CSA), organized an insightful and
engaging poster-making competition on the theme ‘Energy Conservation:
Empowering a Sustainable Tomorrow’. The competition took place on 28th
September 2024, attracting enthusiastic participation from students across
different departments.
The event, aimed at raising awareness about energy
conservation and promoting creative expression on this crucial topic, saw around
150 participants from the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-year students. The
competition encouraged students to blend their artistic skills with their
understanding of sustainable energy solutions, focusing on how energy
conservation is essential for ensuring a greener and more sustainable future.
The posters were evaluated based on creativity,
relevance to the theme, originality, and the message conveyed. After a rigorous
evaluation process, the top three winners were selected, showcasing a deep
understanding of the theme and an exceptional level of creativity.
On 30th September 2024, during a one-day
workshop organized in collaboration with the Chhattisgarh State Renewable
Energy Development Agency (CREDA), the top 3 winners were felicitated
with certificates and exciting prizes by CREDA. The event was a
great success, not only in terms of participation but also in spreading
awareness about the importance of energy conservation. It instilled a sense of
responsibility in students to contribute to a more sustainable and eco-friendly
future.
Objective:
The primary objective of the poster-making competition
was to foster awareness and creativity among students regarding the critical
importance of energy conservation in shaping a sustainable future. The
competition aimed to:
Promote Awareness: To educate and inform students about the
significance of energy conservation and its role in mitigating environmental
challenges.
Encourage Creative Expression: To provide a platform for students to creatively
express their ideas and solutions on sustainable energy practices through
artistic representation.
Foster Responsibility: To inspire students to recognize their individual
responsibility in adopting energy-efficient practices and promoting
sustainability within their communities.
Engage Multidisciplinary Participation: To encourage participation from students across
various departments and academic years, fostering a collaborative environment
for discussing and visualizing energy conservation solutions.
Highlight the Role of Renewable Energy: To draw attention to the importance of renewable
energy sources and energy-efficient technologies as key drivers in achieving a
sustainable tomorrow.
