CREDA WORKSHOP : ENERGY CONSERVATION: EMPOWERING A SUSTAINABLE TOMORROW

 



The Computer Science Association (CSA), Dept. of CSE of Shri Shankaracharya Institute of Professional Management and Technology (SSIPMT), Raipur organized a One-Day Workshop on "Energy Conservation: Empowering a Sustainable Tomorrow" in collaboration with Chhattisgarh State Renewable Energy Development Agency (CREDA).

The one-day workshop held on 30th September had a participation of approximately 200 students from various discipline of Engineering College. This workshop highlighted the growing importance of solar energy and the initiatives spearheaded by the Chhattisgarh Renewable Energy Development Agency (CREDA).

Mr. Nishant Tripathi, Chairman (BG) of SSIPMT, extended a warm welcome to the chief guest, Shri Rajesh Singh Rana, with a bouquet. Dr. Alok Kumar Jain, Principal of SSIPMT, alongside Dr. Yogesh Kumar Rathore, CSE Department Coordinator, greeted Shri R. S. Baiga, Executive Engineer of CREDA, and Dr. Priyanka Pachauri Mishra, Project Coordinator at CREDA. Dr. Alok Kumar Jain delivered the welcome speech followed by the speech by Mr. Nishant Tripathi.

As part of the event, Chief Guest, Shri Rajesh Singh Rana (IAS), CEO CREDA delivered a compelling speech on the work CREDA is doing and emphasized the significance of solar energy in today’s world.

Following the speech, Mr. J. N. Baiga, Executive Engineer, CREDA and Dr. Priyanka Pachauri, Project Coordinator at CREDA, gave an in-depth presentation outlining the impact of solar energy and various schemes that CREDA has implemented to benefit students, schools, colleges, households, and farmers. The presentation was well-received, providing valuable insights into the future of renewable energy.

To engage participants further, the presentation was followed by a quiz competition conducted by Mr. Aaditya from CREDA, where attendees tested their knowledge on solar energy and CREDA's initiatives.

As a prerequisite to the workshop, a poster-making competition was organized on 28th September, allowing participants to showcase their creativity and ideas related to the workshop's theme.

The winners of the competition were felicitated during the workshop on 30th September by the esteemed Shri Rajesh Singh Rana ji, who praised the participants for their innovative and artistic contributions. The winners of the quiz were also recognized, making the event both educational and interactive.

Dr. Apurv Verma, CSA Coordinator concluded the event with a vote of thanks.

The primary objective of the "Energy Conservation: Empowering a Sustainable Tomorrow" workshop is to raise awareness about the importance of renewable energy, particularly solar energy, and to educate participants about initiatives led by the Chhattisgarh State Renewable Energy Development Agency (CREDA). By engaging students from various engineering disciplines, the workshop aims to foster a deeper understanding of energy conservation practices and encourage innovative thinking around sustainable energy solutions.

POSTER MAKING COMPETITION :ENERGY CONSERVATION : EMPOWERING A SUSTAINABLE TOMORROW

 


The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, through its Computer Science Association (CSA), organized an insightful and engaging poster-making competition on the theme ‘Energy Conservation: Empowering a Sustainable Tomorrow’. The competition took place on 28th September 2024, attracting enthusiastic participation from students across different departments.

The event, aimed at raising awareness about energy conservation and promoting creative expression on this crucial topic, saw around 150 participants from the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-year students. The competition encouraged students to blend their artistic skills with their understanding of sustainable energy solutions, focusing on how energy conservation is essential for ensuring a greener and more sustainable future.

The posters were evaluated based on creativity, relevance to the theme, originality, and the message conveyed. After a rigorous evaluation process, the top three winners were selected, showcasing a deep understanding of the theme and an exceptional level of creativity.

On 30th September 2024, during a one-day workshop organized in collaboration with the Chhattisgarh State Renewable Energy Development Agency (CREDA), the top 3 winners were felicitated with certificates and exciting prizes by CREDA. The event was a great success, not only in terms of participation but also in spreading awareness about the importance of energy conservation. It instilled a sense of responsibility in students to contribute to a more sustainable and eco-friendly future.

TECHNICAL QUIZ COMPETITION

 


The Computer Science Association (CSA), department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) organized a Technical Quiz Competition for its students on 18th September 2024. The competition aimed to test individual knowledge in various areas of computer science, fostering a spirit of learning and competitive excellence within the department. The competition was held for individual participants, ensuring each student had the opportunity to showcase their technical expertise. The quiz consisted of three challenging rounds:

Preliminary Round: A set of technical questions to test the foundational knowledge of the participants. Intermediate Round: More in-depth questions, covering advanced topics in computer science. Final Round: The top scorers from the previous rounds faced off in a rapid-fire round, where quick thinking and accuracy determined the winner.

Winners:

Winner: Bushra Fatima, a student of CSE 3rd Year, Section B, emerged victorious after an impressive performance throughout all three rounds.

Runner-up: Harshwardhan Tiwari, also from CSE 3rd Year, Section B, secured the runner-up position, displaying commendable technical skills.

At the conclusion of the competition, a felicitation ceremony was held. Dr. Alok Kumar Jain, Principal of SSIPMT, presented mementos to both the winner and the runner-up, acknowledging their outstanding performance and dedication. The technical quiz competition was a successful event, providing CSE students with an excellent platform to test their knowledge and boost their confidence. It encouraged a culture of academic excellence and fostered individual growth within the department.

Teacher's Day Event: Envisioning the Modern Educator: Students' Views and Aspirations

 The event titled "Envisioning the Modern Educator: Students' Views and Aspirations" was held on 5th September 2024, providing a platform for students to express their perspectives on the qualities and roles they envision in a modern educator. The event aimed to foster a dialogue between students and educators, focusing on the evolving dynamics of teaching and learning in the digital age.

The program began with a welcome address by the event coordinator Dr. Apurv Verma, followed by a series of student-led presentations. Each student shared their insights on what defines a modern educator, highlighting the need for adaptability, empathy, technological proficiency, and a collaborative approach to teaching. The participants emphasized the importance of integrating technology in the classroom, personalizing learning experiences, and fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for students to thrive.

Throughout the event, students engaged in lively discussions, sharing their aspirations for educators who not only impart knowledge but also mentor, inspire, and prepare them for the challenges of the future. The event concluded with a reflection session where faculty members and educators responded to the students’ views, showing openness to their feedback and a commitment to continually evolving as educators. The best performers were Muskan Chandrakar, Tanu Pathak, and Jai Kumar, who delivered impressive and engaging presentations.

The event was a valuable opportunity for students and faculty to connect, exchange ideas, and co-create a vision for a more progressive, student-centered approach to education. It left both educators and students with fresh insights and a shared sense of purpose in shaping the future of learning.
